Eleri is particularly interested in new writing and finding relevant ways to engage classic texts, whether that be for stage or screen. Collaboration is at the heart of her work, and the collaboration with designers, DPs and other creatives is integral to her creative process from the beginning. Having trained and worked extensively as an Actor, Eleri prides herself on speaking the same language as the cast, and is able to help guide actors towards nuanced and explosive performances as a result. Whether the working environment is on set or in a rehearsal room, equality, diversity and representation are central to her process of assembling teams and deciding which voices shape the work. Eleri aims to work with female-led teams who, like her, are driven towards inclusive practise which allows everyone to work with confidence and openness.

Eleri gained a high 1st Class degree in Drama & Screen Studies from the University of Manchester, and went on to train at Drama Centre, London. After working as an Actor and Casting Assistant for 7 years, Eleri moved into directing in 2018, and in 2019 was selected as the first recipient of the Carne Traineeship for Directors in Wales, where she trained alongside Artistic Director Tamara Harvey. She has also worked as a 1st, 2nd and 3rd AD across Film and TV, most recently as 1st AD on the BBC 4 Adaptation of 'Isla' for Theatr Clwyd/Rondo Media.

Welsh and proud, Eleri now splits her time between North Wales and London, and also has a base in Cardiff.

Eleri is currently the Resident Director on the 2022/23 UK and Ireland Tour of The Ocean at the End of the Lane for the National Theatre, adapted from Neil Gaiman's original text by Joel Horwood, directed by Katy Rudd with Associate Director Sophie Moniram.
